Firearms Training

Firearms Training: Citizens will learn Classroom and Range Instruction:

Three (3) Prong Approach:

1. Universal Safety Principles

2. Fundamentals of Shooting:

(a) Stance

(b) Proper Grip

(c) Sight Alignment

(d) Sight Picture

(e) Articulation of the Trigger

3. Presentation:

Students will shoot Live-Fire utilizing a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. The purpose of this low caliber firearm is that the shooter will not be distracted by a larger caliber firearm and the shooter can now spend more time concentrating on the fundamentals of shooting.

Note: This is a Two (2) Hour Program, One (1) Hour Classroom Lecture and Practical Exercises utilizing a Training Pistol, and One (1) Hour Live-Fire Shooting.


Pepper Spray Instruction

Pepper Spray: Citizens will identify the effects of pepper spray, the types of delivery systems, how to use pepper spray, identify first aid procedures, and some history of pepper spray.


Self Defense

Self Defense and Personal Safety: Citizens will learn counteracting skills to defend themselves including a punch, edge fist, palm-heel strike, knee strike, front kick, and a few others. Citizens will learn that you must take away opportunity from the criminal by identifying and knowing your surroundings. This will include parking your vehicle, walking to and from work, shopping, and recreational activities.


Women’s Self-Defense Program

Women’s Self-Defense Program: There are several reasons women might want to learn self-defense. The most obvious reason is that you want to be prepared to defend yourself or family if you’re ever in imminent or immediate danger. A study conducted by the Department of Justice and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that 1 in 6 women had experienced a sexual assault or attempted sexual assault. It is all about learning how to defend yourself and think clearly in very intense situations. It is about gaining the confidence to better control situations that might otherwise be completely outside of your control.

2. Seven Tools of Defense:

(a) Eye Jab

(b) Oblique Kick

(c) Ear Slap

(d) Knee Strike

(e) Head Butt

(f) Elbow Strike

(g) The Bite
